PERILAKU LOKOMOSI, HOMING, DAN KAWIN PADA BEKICOT (Lissachatina fulica Bowdich, 1822)

Abstract

Beberapa keong darat pulmonata diketahui memiliki kemampuan berpencar dan homing. Kami menggunakan Bekicot (Lissachatina fulica), satu jenis kosmopolitan untuk diamati perilaku pergerakan dan kemampuan untuk homing. Pengamatan terhadap empat keong besar dan empat keong kecil dilakukan dalam 16 petak berukuran 1 x 1 m. Pengamatan dilakukan di malam hari selama dua belas jam dan diulang selama tiga hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki korelasi antara pergerakan keong dan homing dengan ukuran, waktu, temperatur dan kelembaban. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa keong besar bergerak dalam jarak yang lebih jauh dibandingkan keong kecil. Lokomosi lebih dipengaruhi oleh temperatur dibanding dengan kelembaban. Perilaku homing hanya teramati pada individu kecil sedangkan perilaku kawin hanya teramati pada individu besar.
